About Ronald Oliver
I have both loved and studied art, including drawing and painting, for nearly a lifetime. I retired from work in the fields of social work and counseling psychology and am now able to devote my full time and attention to working in a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylics, pastels, and oils. The subject matter and content of my work has also varied widely. In the past I was drawn to painting nature, i.e. the flora and fauna of Colombia, as well as enjoying painting playful images that might be called whimsical. For example, I have used my work to illustrate verses, as in the collection called ¨If Dirt Could Talk¨. For the past year or so I have developed my interest in abstract art and most of my work has been in that vein. I am devoted to maximizing personal growth and professional skills in the plastic arts. I want to speak to others through my work and create images of the most beautiful and lasting quality possible.
